Indian Geospatial Industry Market Report 2009 The third edition of the Indian Geospatial Market Report was launched at FICCI Hall in New Delhi by Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Prithviraj Chavan. During the event FICCI also conducted a two day conference on Geospatial Technologies for Utilities and Infrastructure. Speaking at the event the minister said, “GIS will become a huge industry in its own right and will not be an appendage of IT.”

Indian Geospatial Industry Market Report 2008 The Indian Geospatial Industry Survey 2008 Report was released by Hon’ble Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Kapil Sibal on 25th April, 2008 at New Delhi.The occasion also marked the presentation ceremony of the Indian Geospatial Awards 2008. The awards recognize and reward the companies and the people who have achieved highest standards in geospatial industry and are driving others forward. This was followed by the “Geospatial Round Table” a discussion with the Hon’ble Minister along with eminent industry personalities, on the theme “GIS in India Challenges and Opportunities”, this was telecast on CNBC TV18
The Indian geospatial industry is in its adolescent stage – not mature yet but full of immense potential and showing great promise. After several unsuccessful attempts in the past to understand and assess the geospatial industry by NGOs, media, government bodies and academic institutions, Geospatial Today, had launched the Indian Geospatial Industry Survey, to present the facts in a scientific and systematic way.
